My client is a well-known representative body and due to expansion they are looking for a Public Affairs Assistant. You must be a second jobber and have exposure to public affairs/policy. Graduate calibre with a relevant degree would be advantageous. Immediate start and excellent career prospects.

Responsibilities:
- Organise meetings with relevant political stakeholders and prepare briefings ahead of meetings
- Provide administrative support to the External Affairs Board, assisting with meeting papers, minutes and monthly updates
- Maintain and manage the public affairs contacts database
- Prepare summaries, reports and public affairs briefings for executives, industry representatives and parliamentarians
- Carry out political research as required
- Coordinate client responses to government, parliamentary and political cpnsultants, drafting responses and monitoring progress
- Assist with input to the membership participation tracker, the policy area of the website and the activity planner
- Assist with blogs, social media, website content and policy publications
The Person
- Previous exposure to public affairs/policy/parliamentary research
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of political processes and high awareness of UK and EU political context
- Results driven with a pro-active, can-do attitude
- Strong administration skills
- Adaptable and flexible
