THE ROLE:
Key Responsibilities

  • You will help develop the programme’s communications and engagement strategic plan, and deliver the supporting tools, ensuring they deliver the most effective approach for driving change for the duration of the programme.
  • Galvanise a wide community of internal stakeholders to deliver a regular and joined-up drumbeat of organisation-wide communications and employee engagement opportunities. This will include generating high-quality and creative internal communication/engagement, and developing our infrastructure (tools, channels and processes) as needed.
  • Provide expert support to leaders and the wider transformation team with their communication style, and on how to engage and build dialogue with staff using multiple channels.
  • Produce content for key channels such as the client's intranet, office-based digital screens, face-to-face events with senior leaders and internal speaking events – your in-depth, nuanced and up-to-date understanding of the strategic context will mean these are ‘on point’ and require minimal senior direction. 
  • You will have an inclusive approach, ensuring a range of internal audiences are actively involved in shaping the way we work, and that we are clearly communicating upcoming changes and how these will affect different employee groups.
  • Maintain a network of practitioners and stakeholders to ensure our change communications/engagement approaches are in line with best practice.
  • Measure the impact of our communications and engagement, and feed this insight into ongoing engagement plans.
  • Supporting other parts of the Transformation Office as required and in line with business needs.


THE PERSON:
You will be a first-rate communicator, in person and in writing, requiring minimal senior direction. You will have strategic communication and engagement experience in the context of organisational transformation and an excellent record of delivering at pace and juggling a lot of balls at the same time. If you are excited by the idea of delivering an internal communications and engagement strategy to support a multi-strand and multi-disciplinary programme – with structure, logic and a steady engagement drumbeat – this role is for you.

Essential

  • Proven ability to implement complex organisational change communications and engagement campaigns
  • First-rate written communication skills, ensuring appropriate content, messaging, tone and consistency in all communication, aligned to strategic objectives and planning
  • Experience of producing high-quality content for different communications and engagement channels and approaches in the context of a coordinated campaign, e.g. insight gathering, stakeholder engagement through events, digital content including video etc
  • Ability to lead coordinated engagement across a large number of stakeholders (eg galvanising action across different teams that need to be joined up)
  • Ability to juggle many balls at once and prioritise effectively, striking an appropriate balance between an independent and consultative approach
  • Aptitude for technology, including MS Office, and the ability to adapt quickly to unfamiliar software

Desirable

  • Experience of maintaining and updating an intranet site
  • Experience of film-making, video editing, animations, etc.
