THE COMPANY:

Our client is an award winning, top 100 UK law firm with offices based across the UK. They are looking for an experienced HRIS & Payroll Officer to join the team on a temp to perm basis.

THE ROLE:

Payroll: 

Responsible for the monthly payroll cycle in its entirety


  • Inputting all data including but not limited to starters, leavers, sickness absence pay, salary and benefits changes, maternity leave and applying statutory notices.
  • Producing all monthly payroll reports, including payroll reconciliation, payroll journals and pension reports in addition to monthly benefit provider reports.
  • Manage and document the monthly pension process, keeping up to date on any new requirements.
  • Manage and produce all EOY reports and processes, including P60’s and P11D’s.
  • Liaising with the firm’s external payroll provider on more complex processes.
  • Participate with payroll audits.
  • Support and assist HR and Finance departments with queries, reports and requests.
  • First point of contact for any payroll related queries, liaising with payroll provider and other relevant external organisations e.g. HMRC.
  • Be a subject matter expert in the HR and payroll system (currently Cintra) and develop proposals for enhancing the system.
  • Assist with the firm’s annual salary and bonus review process.


HRIS and Management Information: 

Responsible for the HR database, including ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data and the creation of meaningful reports.

  • Acting as the main point of contact for complex HR system queries.
  • Ensuring that the system is being used to automate HR process and procedures.
  • Producing management information statistics and ad hoc reports as required.
  • Collecting and analysing information for salary review.  To work in conjunction with the HR team to complete external salary and benefit benchmarking surveys that the firm participates in (usually annually).
  • Collating data as required to assist HR Department to monitor trends.
  • Working with the HR Department to develop meaningful MI reports to the business.
  • Working with the team in implementing a new Flexible Benefits platform and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the system.

THE PERSON:

  • Available to start the position immediately
  • Previous experience working in a similar HRIS & Payroll Officer position
  • Experience processing payroll for 400+ employees
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Experience working within a legal or professional services firm
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Experience of maintaining and enhancing internal HR systems.
  • Working knowledge of Auto enrolment pension schemes.
