The Smart Energy Code (SEC) underpins the smart meter rollout programme in Great Britain, and our client is responsible for managing the Smart Energy Code Administration Service (SECAS), as one of its major accounts.

Primarily you will be responsible for supporting and guiding industry participants through their obligations under the Smart Energy Code. The role will involve a mixture of responding to enquiries, processing applications, drafting and reviewing guidance documentation, website content and supporting engagement events, including webinars. The role requires strong relationship management and written skills, as well as flexibility to manage changing and competing priorities, and a keen eye for detail.

Location: London Office Salary Range: £30,000 - £41,040 plus bonus with excellent benefits package
Employment Type: Permanent Contract Basis: Full time (happy to consider flexible working)

The successful candidate will require strong written and relationship management skills, attention to detail, as well as flexibility to manage priorities. We are looking for a self-starter who is highly organised and will hold themselves and others to high standards of quality and will proactively identify and drive service enhancements within the Party Engagement and wider SECAS team. There is potential for the scope of the role to change over time, in line with candidate skills, and as we review how we structure the team to deliver the best client experience.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the SECAS helpdesk and ensuring calls and emails are responded to in a timely manner;
  • Guiding parties through the SEC Party and DCC User processes; • Building and maintaining strong relationships with industry stakeholders; including with regulatory and governance bodies;
  • Drafting and reviewing internal and external documentation including guidance, communications and website content to ensure accuracy, consistency and quality;
  • Continuously improving the processes used by the team with a focus on innovation and digitalisation;
  • Supporting and presenting at engagement events with industry participants;
  • Ensuring the Party Engagement team meets its service levels by working to and taking ownership of deadlines

Requirements Ideally, we are looking for candidates to have experience of or interest in the UK retail utilities industry, preferably electricity, gas or smart metering.

The successful candidate will:
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, able to understand and communicate technical subjects and convey points concisely using plain English;
  • Have excellent stakeholder engagement skills;
  • Have experience of improving existing processes;
  • Be digitally competent and able to present information clearly for the intended audience;
  • Have demonstrable project management skills, be able to manage time and a varied workload, and be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities;
  • Have an understanding and experience of industry codes and governance (desirable). Upon employment, employees should also have a sound awareness of the Company's Information, Quality, Environmental and Energy Management Systems.
