Student Office Administrator

Location: Central London (fully office-based)
Contract: Temporary | Full-time
Salary: £22 per hour

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and proactive Student Office Administrator to join a busy academic administration team. This role is ideal for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, supporting students and staff, and managing a wide range of operational and administrative processes.

The Role

Reporting to the Teaching Operations Manager, you will provide comprehensive administrative support across taught programmes, ensuring the smooth delivery of student-facing services, examinations, timetabling and academic administration. You will act as a key point of contact for students, staff and external stakeholders while helping to maintain high standards of service and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the administration and delivery of examinations, including preparation of materials, invigilator support and exam script processing
• Assisting with timetabling activities, room bookings and timetable updates
• Monitoring student registration and access to relevant systems and digital learning platforms
• Producing reports and analysing feedback and marking data to support academic processes
• Supporting the timely publication of student marks, feedback and assessment information
• Acting as a first point of contact for student, staff and visitor enquiries
• Taking minutes and notes at meetings and supporting the preparation of agendas and documentation
• Assisting with student communications, letters and departmental correspondence
• Maintaining accurate student records and administrative documentation
• Providing administrative support for departmental projects and activities
• Supporting colleagues across the Student Office during peak periods and staff absences

Essential:
• Previous administrative experience, ideally within an educational or academic environment
• Experience delivering excellent customer service to a diverse range of stakeholders
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively

Desirable:
• Experience working within Higher Education
• Experience using student record systems
• Experience taking minutes and supporting meetings
• Knowledge of academic administration processes and procedures

Additional Information

• This is a fully office-based role and attendance on-site is required five days per week.
• Flexibility is required during peak periods, particularly around assessments and examinations.
• The successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS check.
