About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance and Operations Officer to support the Assistant Director for Finance and Operations in managing day-to-day accounting and budget oversight. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across a dynamic international education environment. You will be responsible for financial planning, payroll administration, vendor relations, and operational support, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive workplace that values diversity, equity, and accessibility.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice and Payment Management
  • Process payments, reconcile accounts, manage petty cash, and liaise with vendors and banks.
  • Handle invoicing for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support month-end journal submissions and financial reporting.
Payroll and Benefits Administration
  • Administer payroll and pension schemes in coordination with external providers.
  • Prepare faculty payment schedules and contracts.
  • Assist with HMRC reporting and benefits documentation.
Budget Oversight and Reporting
  • Support budget monitoring and variance analysis.
  • Assist with year-end accounts and planning reports.
Financial Compliance and Audit Coordination
  • Act as primary contact for external audits.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and procurement procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to financial systems and processes.
Operational Support
  • Supervise Finance and Operations Administrator.
  • Provide general support for site operations as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
Required:
  • Degree in Accountancy, Financial Operations, or Business Administration.
  • Experience in budget management and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong numeracy.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Commitment to diversity and service excellence.
Preferred:
  • Postgraduate qualification or CIMA/AAT certification.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Oracle).
  • Experience in payroll management and international education.
  • Line management experience.
 Institutional Impact:
  • Oversight of operational budgets and payroll.
  • Administrative access to financial accounts and pension schemes.
  • Key contributor to financial planning and compliance.
