About the Role

Legal Administrator / Receptionist
Steatham, South West London
Full time - on site 5 days per week
Salary £28,500

The Legal Administrator / Receptionist is the first point of contact for clients and visitors and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the legal practice. This position combines front-of-house reception duties with legal administrative support, requiring professionalism, discretion, and strong organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities Reception & Client Services
  • Greet clients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls promptly
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, couriers, and deliveries
  • Maintain reception area to a high professional standard
  • Schedule appointments and manage meeting room bookings
Legal Administration
  • Provide administrative support to lawyers and legal staff
  • Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
  • Open, maintain, and close client files (physical and electronic)
  • Assist with document filing, scanning, and records management
  • Manage calendars, deadlines, and court dates as required
  • Assist with billing, invoicing, and basic trust account administration (where applicable)
Office Support
  • Maintain office supplies and liaise with vendors
  • Assist with compliance, confidentiality, and file management procedures
  • Support general office administration and ad hoc tasks as required
Skills & Experience Essential
  • Previous experience in a legal environment (internships included!) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Professional presentation and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

Based in Steatham, South West London, the Client are looking for someone who lives locally, and wants to be part of a small office, where there is long term scope for progression. 
This role is on site, with no hybrid working option.
