The Role
As HR Lead, you will play a pivotal role in managing the full People Operations lifecycle during a period of organisational evolution. Key Responsibilities
Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle
- Prepare offer letters, contracts, and pre‑employment checks.
- Coordinate all aspects of new starter readiness and lead HR onboarding sessions.
- Track probation periods and support managers with clear guidance and timelines.
- Manage lifecycle changes including maternity leave, leavers, and benefits administration.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contracts for UK and international staff.
- Ensure HR policies are followed consistently and escalate issues where needed.
- Support payroll with timely updates on starters, leavers, and pay changes.
- Maintain headcount reporting and support Finance with people‑related data.
- Manage the Deel platform for contractors and overseas workers.
- Work with external providers to ensure compliant, efficient contractor processes.
- Ensure recruitment processes and approval workflows are followed consistently.
- Improve hiring tools, templates, and candidate experience.
- Support the performance management cycle and ensure fair, consistent execution.
- Partner with leadership on people‑related processes and best practice.
- Support organisation‑wide culture and engagement initiatives.
- Lead and support major culture and values projects.
- Surface cultural insights and risks, providing recommendations to senior leaders.
- Coordinate monthly All Hands meetings with engaging content and structure.
- Manage the People budget and oversee value‑aligned internal events.
- Champion company culture and ensure behaviours are consistently embedded.
- Line‑manage the HR Assistant, providing coaching, feedback, and clear development support.
- Delegate effectively while maintaining accountability for delivery.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve People processes and systems.
- Ensure policies evolve alongside organisational needs.

- Sound judgement when applying policies and handling sensitive issues.
- Deep understanding of core HR processes across the employee lifecycle.

- Experience using HR platforms (e.g., Deel) and strong spreadsheet skills.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Ability to work autonomously while keeping stakeholders aligned.
