My client, an established professional services company in London, are looking for a CCAB qualified Financial Controller with a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a Controller or Manager role, to join them on a 12-month fixed-term basis. You will have management experience, knowledge of audits and exposure to payroll checks.


  • Maintain the accounting records for the company comply with statutory, taxation and audit legislation and meet the reporting requirements within agreed deadlines.
  • Manage and develop the Finance Team, establishing appropriate priorities to ensure deadlines are met whilst professional standards are maintained, engendering a culture of right first time and quality at every touch.
  • Provide and manage accounting and finance services to the company and associated companies for monitoring and controlling income and costs to include management accounting, budgetary and control systems. Ensure balance sheets are fully reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Manage all aspects of payroll (via external bureau) and benefits ensuring statutory compliance.
  • Oversee the management of the annual subscription cycle and direct debit process ensuring that the company’s main income stream is collected efficiently (managed by Assistant Financial Controller)
  • Manage the year-end audit process, ensuring the accounts and audit files are prepared, liaising with the auditors throughout the audit and up to account signature with minimum management letter recommendations.
  • Manage the collection of insurance premiums on behalf of the client’s insurance company, providing accurate and timely accounting information and liaising as appropriate.
  • Manage and oversee the payment of claims, including reconciliation of each claim to the Bordereau and the bank.
  • Management and reconciliation of the Single Payment System bank account working closely with the financial protection team.
  • Ensure all accounting systems and processes deliver a value added, efficient service to organisation, developing further as appropriate (in particular looking at paperless solutions), whilst maintaining effective controls, reporting and compliance.


  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Finance Manager or Finance Controller
  • CCAB qualified
  • Knowledge and experience of payroll and audits
  • People management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confident
