Bid Manager/Writer x3 positions
£46,000 - £67,000 - this includes car allowance

The successful candidates must have PROVEN experience within a bid function. The role is working for a tier one international construction/property company. Your experience can be producing bid documentation within a marketing function or working on-site. Public sector exposure is a definite advantage. These roles are permanent and to be filled urgently. They are urgent due to an influx of potential business and expansion.


Key responsibilities:

Bid strategy

  • Undertake detailed client, project and stakeholder research
  • For key bids facilitate workshops with team to develop strategy and share knowledge
  • Provide guidance and develop answer plans to ensure the strategy is embedded in the tender submission

Managing the tender process

  • Follow client bid process and ensure all activities follow corporate governance
  • Review all tender documents to understand client requirements and deliverables
  • Chair pre-start meeting - allocate owners and set deadlines for content
  • Monitor and report on progress / own the tender programme
  • Facilitate/attend all internal and external meetings as required
  • Management of client and consultant comms, including dissemination to the team and management of appropriate actions
  • Managing support from other enabling teams - BIM, visualisation, H&S etc

Content generation

  • Answer plan bid responses – building in the bid strategy
  • Write/develop all non-technical content, H&S, quality, CVs, experience etc
  • Support on technical content where required - understand and resolve complex technical, strategic and business issues – interviewing and questioning delivery employees as required
  • Proofread all copy – ensure compliant and aligned to client requirements and bid strategy
  • Ensure that project solutions demonstrate clear USPs and key strategic advantage
  • Write the executive summary


Post tender interviews and mid bids

  • Create and manage storyboarding sessions
  • Arrange rehearsal sessions and coach team – ask dummy questions
  • Develop content that demonstrates the win themes and clearly responds to the agenda


Skills and experiences

  • Previous proven experience within a similar bid function
  • Fit out, Construction and/or Engineering knowledge
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to interface with others and clearly communicate expectations.
  • Good relationship builder
  • Ability to understand Client and Consultants needs and expectations
  • Ability to create a good team dynamic
  • Flexible in work approach to suit all delivery teams
