Working Time Regulations for Temporary Workers
INCREASED HOLIDAY ALLOWANCES FOR TEMPORARY WORKERS
The minimum statutory annual leave will be increasing from Monday 1 October 2007 and 1 April 2009 to account for bank holidays. All workers will be entitled to the enhanced rate of leave (including temporary workers) there is no qualifying period of employment before the right accrues. These changes are being implemented by the Working Time (Amendment) Regulations 2007, which will amend the Working Time Regulations 1998.
This means that you will get 4 additional days leave accrued from 1st October 2007 (24 holidays in total) and 8 additional days leave from April 2009 (28 holidays in total).
Morgan Spencer is delighted with this new legislation as we feel our temporary workforce provide a vital service to industry today and rightly deserve these enhanced benefits.
