Recent research by Staples UK/One Poll has suggested that taking a second to stop and think about your ‘out of office' email can have a positive effect on relationships with your colleagues, clients and suppliers. Amee Chande, Staples UK MD, said "People read out of office emails more than you think. Beyond the basics, why not take the opportunity to communicate your personality by being original". For example it is suggested that you inform people that you are taking a day off to enjoy the Olympics (as well as including an alternative contact address and your return date). Perhaps this is something for you to consider?
